Scottish indie band, Lucia & The Best Boys, graced the stage on home soil last night for an extravagant performance at Stag & Dagger Festival.
Haunting melodies filled the quickly-brimming venue as front woman Lucia Fairfull emerged from the ether to bestow her soul-stirring set upon the crowd. A cathartic rendition of sound from Fairfull’s debut album ‘Burning Castles’, as well as a couple songs from her EP ‘The State Of Things’, replenished the Glasgow crowd of their hunger for more as the band made their first appearance of 2024 after a hiatus.

A mere three songs into the band’s set, they were met with a declaration of love as a crowd member shouted, “We love you!”, to which Fairfull responded, “I love you too”. The true Glaswegian-esque aura was captured by the beaming crowd as unforgettable notes of title track ‘Burning Castle’ adorned the room, followed by an enthusiastic singalong from the crowd.
It is suffice to say that collectively, the crowd were astonished at Fairfull’s vocals, particularly during ‘Angels Cry Too’, which she noted as “one of [her] favourites” she frolicked under the stage lights.
Lucia & The Best Boys finished a concise 45 minute set by letting loose on album single ‘When You Dress Up’, as Fairfull belts its lyrics and the band support her with powerful backing.
