Olivia Burnette releases new single ‘Out of Mind’ that’s perfect for summer playlists and getaway cars

Olivia Burnette, an indie pop singer songwriter, is set to release her fourth single ‘Out of Sight’ on July 4th just in time for you to add it to your summer playlist. ‘Out of Sight’ tells the story of having no choice but to move on because the other person in the relationship failed so royally. So, you learn to give yourself the closure that you deserve and realise that you are better off and stronger than you ever have been in the absence of their looming shadow.

The catchy opening guitar riff and punchy bassline are addictive, like the songs you listen to all summer long with the windows rolled down and the taste of freedom on your tongue. Olivia’s smooth yet powerful vocals sing the lyrics, ‘I think I made mistakes by caring too much, I grabbed the podium to quick’ which convey when you can recognise your faults, for loving too hard and caring too much. This is what makes you a good person who can give yourself closure whilst the person who cruelly ended the relationship due to their own selfishness will just float through life believing that they’re a god until they’re painfully humbled.

Soon the single bursts into the chorus in a whirlwind of upbeat revelry. Listeners are greeted with the lyrics, ‘out of sight out of mind easy to heal when you’re hard to find.’ Lyrically the song appears bittersweet as it tells the tale of being forced to get over a heartbreak when only the memory of your lost love still lingers as the actual person already fled in an act of cowardice. However, sonically the single is fun and exciting like realising that you’re free from someone so can finally live the life that you deserve.

The second verse is home to my personal favourite lyrics, ‘I guess you’re not as great as you once seemed, only listened to your praises. You made me captain and then switched your team’ which present how the other person was never anything but a narcissist who’s charm you fell victim of. They made you feel like the most special person in the world, like you could make time stand still and sunlight shone from your smile. However, they only used you to discard you leaving you to feel worthless until you realise that your importance is measured by a lot more then just their self-absorbed terms.

After an electric bridge the final chorus blooms into a euphoric crescendo, closing the song with the listener still on a high and leaving them to anticipate what comes next for Olivia Burnette. So, scream the lyrics in your getaway car and dance to the beat like no one’s watching, let ‘Out of Sight’ be the soundtrack to your summer. Also be sure to pre-save the single and share it with your friends so that you can all be empowered by Olivia’s carefully crafted lyrics and be obsessed with her flawless sound.
